In Korea, 5:30am is rush hour—not for traffic, but for riverside dance parties, intergenerational workouts, and a national culture that wakes up with the sun.
I struggle to get going in the morning … maybe because I cycle and I need to fuel for it, and eating early has never been my thing. But here I am eating leftovers cooked up with an egg on it, getting ready to pedal. Mind you, it’s not 5.30. B
I love outdoor exercise equipment! I mean I don’t use it…but that’s because there is none around me. I’m up at 5:30 am every day and I do Physical therapy and yoga and rebounding and walks..as well as Morning pages and readying for school. I feel like exercising in public was first made acceptable by the Qi gong group…maybe ?
7.5 hours….i am NOT a night owl…and methinks you are? (Based on the fact that you said you caught this morning scene by not going to bed? Yea, that’s so not me)
5:30 is admirable! I don't get started until an hour or so later, and that's also a struggle because it means you have to sleep earlier... Probably better for the health overall though!
What a beautiful portrait of a typical morning in Korea! I have to confess that many of my earliest mornings in Korea were the result of late nights!
I hear you. The video in this writing was a result of that same phenomenon ;-)
Haha amazing!

I need some of this morning energy. How much sleep do you get usually?

Yes! The 'sleeping early' part has always been the issue for me, but I guess that also shifts with the years?
I can believe that - over time I find myself planning fewer social events with late end times (and getting fewer invites, too...) 😅
I’m laughing (and crying a little) at how true this is…
