Are the banks of rivers and creeks in Korea engineered like they are in Japan? Or are they more natural at the shoreline? Why do they do that?
Over here we have the Great Blue Heron and he would not tolerate being watched by the young couple….very private….he’d fly away gronking in irritation.
Please note my maturity in not making obvious joke about your subtitle.
For this particular river there is a policy to try and make it 'natural' with mixed results. They actually pump in water from a reservoir to make it run all year, which I think is the only reason otters, ducks and heron hang out there.
It's funny about heron gronking. I can stop my bike to fix a flat tire next to one and they don't care at all, but when I stop with the intention of taking a photo of them, they gronk and fly off and keep yelling as they resettle downstream. Sometimes they'll even take the time to circle around and buzz you and gronk a bit more. I feel like they are good at sensing your intentions.

Sounds like your heron are even more irritable 😂
